TOP OF THE LAKE: CHINA GIRL starring DAVID DENCIK will premiere at CANNES FILM FESTIVAL

    11 May 2017

Cannes Film Festival has announced it will hold special screenings of Jane Campion’s Top of the Lake: China Girl in its entirety and the first two episodes of David Lynch’s new Twin Peaks as part of its 70th edition, which runs May 17-28. This is the first time Cannes Film Festival embraces the small screen after years of protesting the trend seen in other major festivals, such as Berlin, Venice, and Toronto.

Campion’s Emmy Award winning series takes off four years after the first season ended, moving its action from New Zealand to Australia. Elisabeth Moss returns as Detective Robin Griffin, and David Dencik stars along side Nicole Kidman and Gwendoline Christie. The series is produced by See-Saw Films for BBC Two, where it will premiere first in 2017 and later in the year in the U.S. on SundanceTV.

On Stage | Anneke von der Lippe plays queen Marguerite In Eugène Ionesco’s EXIT THE KING at the National Theatre in Oslo

    02 April 2017

Exit the King (Kongen dør) takes place on King Berenger’s dying day, also, not coincidentally, the last day of the universe. The older queen, Marguerite played by Anneke von der Lippe, and the Doctor tell the king that everything is falling apart – from the walls of the palace to the workings of the solar system – and that he is dying. The absurdist and humorous chamber play is directed by Stein Winge, and can be seen at the National Theatre in Oslo until April 20. Read more and buy your tickets here.
