Michael Noer’s period drama Before the Frost (Før frosten) with Gustav Giese in a leading role, takes place somewhere in the Danish countryside in the middle of the 19th century.
It tells the heart-wrenching story of a struggling farmer who must go against his morals and make a deal with a wealthy neighbor in order to secure his family’s survival over a harsh winter. It features Jesper Christensen in the lead as the farmer Jens and the young talent Clara Rosager as his daughter Signe. Additional actors include Ghita Nørby, Elliott Crosset Hove, Magnus Krepper, Oscar Dyekjær Giese and Martin Greis-Rosenthal.
