The Academy Award winning director Bille August’s A Fortunate Man (Lykke-Per) is based on Nobel prize winning author Henrik Pontoppidan’s 1898 classic novel. It is a love story and drama tell of a young man’s difficult choices between career and family life.
Esben Smed stars in the lead role of Per and Katrine Greis-Rosenthal as his fiancée Jacobe. The cast also include Rasmus Bjerg, Peter Plaugborg, and Tommy Kenter among others. The film is adapted for the big screen by Bille August and his son Anders August. A Fortunate Man is produced by Nordisk Film Production, and will also be shown in prolonged miniseries format in December 2018 on the Danish television station TV 2.
