Danish director Jesper W. Nielsen recently started the shoot for the thriller The Exception (Undtagelsen), with a cast featuring Danica Curcic, Amanda Collin, Sidse Babett Knudsen, and Lene Maria Christensen.
The nerve-wracking thriller, based on hit novel by Danish author Christian Jungersen from 2004, follows two women, Iben and Malene played by Curcic and Collin, working in a Copenhagen-based NGO that specialises in genocide and crimes against humanity. When the women begin receiving death threats, they first suspect a Serbian war criminal, but as tensions mount among them, they start suspecting and turning against each other instead. The script is adapted by Christian Torpe.
The Exception is shooting in Budapest until Sept 13 and will finish production in Aarhus, Denmark in midt October. Produced by Marcella Dichmann, Mille Bjørke and Miriam Nørgaard for Fridthjof Film with Ronnie Fridthjof as executive producer, The Exception will release locally in autumn 2019.
