Congratulations to Josefine Frida for receiving the talent award Tokyo Gemstone Award at the 32nd Tokyo International Film Festival which took place last week.
Her current movie Disco, by Norwegian director Jorunn Myklebust Syversen, also celebrated its Asian premiere in the Competition Section at the Festival.
The feature stars Josefine Frida as 19-year-old Mirjam, the world champion in freestyle disco dancing who starts questioning her faith after suffering a panic attacks during a competition. When she is no longer able to dance, she looks for answers with a fundamentalist Christian congregation.
Disco is also on the bill for the WEEKEND program at CPH PIX later this month together with Daniel Borgman’s thriller Resin (Harpiks) starring Amanda Collin and Suicide Tourist with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
