Maria Bonnevie won this year’s Amanda Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as the depressed and alcoholic mother Astrid in Camilla Strøm Henriksen’s Phoenix.
Hans Petter Moland’s Out Stealing Horses collected five statuettes at the Award show including one for Best Film. The screen adaptation of Per Petterson’s best-selling novel world premiered in competition at the last Berlinale. It stars Stellan Skarsgård in the leading role with Danica Curcic, Pål Sverre Hagen and Anders Baasmo in the supporting cast.
The Amanda Awards are handed out annually at the Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund, Norway since the award’s initiation in 1985. This year, the award ceremony was held on August 17. Congratulations to everyone!
