The Exception (Undtagelsen) is penned by Christian Torpe and based on the 2004 bestselling novel by Danish author Christian Jungersen.
The nerve-wracking thriller follows four women (played by Danica Curcic, Amanda Collin, Sidse Babett Knudsen, and Lene Maria Christensen) working in a Copenhagen-based NGO that specialises in genocide and crimes against humanity. When the women begin receiving death threats, they first suspect a Serbian war criminal, but as tensions mount among them, they start suspecting and turning against each other instead.
The long-awaited movie adaptation is directed by Jesper W. Nielsen and produced by Marcella Dichmann, Mille Bjørke and Miriam Nørgaard for Fridthjof Film with Ronnie Fridthjof as executive producer. It premieres on Juli 2, and it is part of the influential Danish Cinema Club, Biografklub Danmark. Watch the trailer here.
