THE SEED starring Ingrid Bolsø Berdal wins at Monte-Carlo Television Festival

New series THE SEED starring Ingrid Bolsø Berdal as Thea Koren wins Audience Award and Prize for Best Creation at this year’s Monte-Carlo Television Festival.

THE SEED is a six-part police drama that follows narrative tracks in Norway, Germany and Brussels, weaving them into a geopolitical thriller with an ecological edge. The series explores the question of who feeds the world. Show creator Christian Jeltsch read aboyt mercenaries destroying a seed vault in Aleppo years ago and connected the idea to the very real Svalbard Global Seed Vault just off the North Pole. The wheels began turning, the seeds took to sprouting, and soon the show-writer had a narrative full of international intrigue that begins when a young German activist goes missing on the Norwegian northern archipelago.

The European co-production is produced by Germany’s Odeon Fiction alongside Mia Film, Rein Film, ARD Degeto and Scandi public broadcaster NRK. Expected release in Germany is late 2023 and early 2024 in Norway.
