The Royal Danish Theatre’s acclaimed production of Ibsen’s A Doll’s House has been completely sold out since its premiere on September 18. Now the performance is touring around Denmark until November 20 after which it will returns to The Playhouse for a last run that ends on December 17.
The performance stars Peter Christoffersen as Torvald and Sicilia Gadborg Høegh as Nora. Ibsen’s masterpiece was first performed in Copenhagen back in 1879 and became an overnight scandal as just the thought of a woman leaving her husband and children provoked moral indignation at the time. The tale of Nora remains an icon of universal longing for the freedom to determine one’s own life and destiny.
A Doll’s House is Anna Balslev’s directing debut at the Royal Danish Theatre. Read more and buy tickets here.
