Gustav Möller’s feature debut, The Guilty which won Sundance’s Audience Award in World Cinema, has been selected as Denmark’s official Oscar entry for best foreign language film. On top of that Jakob Cedergren has just received a European Film Award nomination for European Best Actor 2018. The more than 3,500 EFA Members will now vote for the winners who will be presented during the awards ceremony on December 15 at the Seville European Film Festival. Don’t forget to vote!
About the film
The acclaimed thriller takes place over the course of a single night and centers on police officer Asger Holm (Jakob Cedergren) who has just been demoted to desk work and answers a panicked phone call from a kidnapped woman. The film follows Asger’s race against time to save the woman with the phone as his only tool. Watch the trailer here.
The Guilty is produced by Lina Flint from Nordisk Film’s unit for talent development SPRING. It is penned by director Gustav Möller in collaboration with Emil Nygaard Albertsen, both EFA nominated for best European screenwriter 2018. The Guilty has received great reviews from the foreign press, and can currently be seen in both UK and US cinemas.
