The filming has just begun for Christina Rosendahl’s World War II drama Our Man in America starring Ulrich Thomsen and Mikkel Boe Følsgaard.
The plot is set in 1940 and is based on the true story of Henrik Kauffmann, who was the Danish ambassador in the USA when the Third Reich occupied Denmark. In particular, the story centres on Kauffmann’s refusal to surrender to the Germans’ diktats and his brave, rebellious plan to defeat Hitler and free his country. Ulrich Thomsen will play the role of ambassador Kauffmann, while Mikkel Boe Følsgaard will be his trusted collaborator, Danish diplomat Povl Bang-Jensen.
Our Man in America is penned by Kristian Bang Foss, with director Christina Rosendahl as co-writer, and it is being produced by Jonas Frederiksen for Nimbus Film. The principal photography will take place in Hungary and Denmark. Our Man in America is expected to be released nationwide by SF Studios in spring 2020.
