Thomas Vinterberg’s Another Round (Druk) was the big winner at the 33rd European Film Awards, winning in each of its categories: Film, Director, Actor (Mads Mikkelsen) and Screenwriter (Vinterberg and Tobias Lindholm). The EFA’s were handed out via a virtual ceremony from Berlin Saturday, Dec. 12.
Another Round has also been selected as Denmark’s submission in the Oscars’ international feature film category. The drama about four weary high school teachers experimenting with the liberating effects of alcohol stars Magnus Millang, Mads Mikkelsen, Thomas Bo Larsen and Lars Ranthe.
In Denmark the movie, which also stars Maria Bonnevie, has been a huge box office hit and now ranks as the film by Vinterberg selling most tickets at the domestic box office. It is produced by Kasper Dissing and Sisse Graum Jørgensen for Zentropa. Catch the trailer here.
